The Younger Heroes (TYH), with the financial support of the NSW State Government, will be running and supporting 3 programs for flood-affected families, focusing on individual and collective resilience and trauma recovery following on from natural disasters. We are inviting you to register your nomination for attendance below.
Each of the 3 programs will cater for 10 families (parents and children) from each local government areas and is suitable for individuals who have been on the front line supporting the recovery efforts and/or individuals who have been directly involved/impacted by the floods.
The Younger Heroes Team will consist of facilitators, support staff and health professionals with extensive experience in supporting individuals and families, through delivering high-quality, experiential and interactive/fun programs.
March 24th from to March 26th
March 27th to March 29th, 2023.
March 30th to April 1st, 2023.
The programs will be conducted in an outdoors/nature based environment, whilst minimising technology interruptions and unnecessary distractions. All accomodation and meals will be included. Participants will only need to get themselves to and from the meeting point near UKI.
Thanks to NSW State Government, our sponsors and donors there will be no cost to this program for the registered participants.
This children and young people wellbeing intuitive project is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and the NSW Government under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
TYH supply everything, from tents to mattresses and all cooking equipment. Just pack a sleeping bag and pillow for comfort. (Don’t forget a torch to look for glow worms)
A moderate range of physical fitness will be fine.
No, we strongly suggest that no foods, especially sugar (lollies) are brought on the program.
TYH will be supply all adequate meals plus morning tea and afternoon tea.
